Exercising can be a great way to work through frustrations. It can help me focus and it’s always been an important part of my life for that reason - particularly during the 2020/21 lockdowns. Weight training, yoga, and going on long nature walks helps to clear my mind, and I’m always at my best when I stick to a routine. This is why it’s important for me to take recovery seriously. I tried Fit CBD’s 150mg CBD Freeze Roll-on gel and loved the relief it brought.
The gel includes only 100% natural plant ingredients that have been “specifically formulated to be gluten free and vegan friendly.” It has the same affect as many of the other “deep heat” type rubs you may have heard of, except Fit CBD products haven’t ever been tested on animals – nor do they contain any ingredients derived from them. It’s comforting to know that the ease of my symptoms didn’t have to come at the expense of another animal, and I‘m glad there’s an ethical choice on the market.
Only a small amount of gel at a time is dispensed onto the ball, which itself is quite sturdy. I was able to lean into it to massage larger problem areas, with the blend of cinnamon and ginger working together to provide a gentle heat that warmed and relaxed my muscles. This helped to detract from any central pain, while the organic aloe leaf juice and menthol helped to cool the surface layer of my skin, providing the “freeze” affect as advertised.
The cooling, "tingling" sensation can last between 10-30mins depending on how generous the application was and how intense the massage. I found the best time to apply was after a long soak in the bath, when my body had already been given time to loosen up. This also ensured longer-lasting affects and resulted in a more powerful contrast between the temperature of my skin, and the freeze from the gel. The bottle fits comfortably in my hands and the roller-ball can pivot easily, however for harder-to-reach areas like the lower back I'd suggest getting some help.
I got the 150mg bottle (90ml) but there’s a higher percentage available if you need something stronger. There are also some smaller, travel-friendly sizes which would be ideal for any gym bag. Fit CBD have also had a change in packaging since this review was written, but all ingredients and ethics behind the business remain the same.
I’d recommend Fit CBD gel to anyone who is looking for mild relief, or generally enjoys the benefits of CBD. For soreness following exercise I found this roll-on gel to be beneficial. Please be sure to check all ingredients listed, and for accute and/or chronic pain please always see a doctor.
